football trial
Clubs, trials and sessions for girls and women across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
What we do & why
Girls Football Trials is the online home for girls' and women's football: trials, grassroots, player pathways and recreational football, in one place that is free to use.
Finding the right club or trial should not mean searching dozens of club websites. We list clubs across the UK, check upcoming trials every week against each club's own website, and explain the pathway in plain English, so players, parents and coaches can find the right next step quickly.
"Every girl who wants to play should be able to find a team, a trial or a taster session near her, without the guesswork."Girls Football Trials

Frequently asked questions
How do I find a girls' or women's football club near me?
Use the search on this site: type your town or postcode, choose an age group, or press 'Near me' to see the closest clubs first. Each listing links to the club or its official listing so you can get in touch.
Do I need experience to join a club?
No. Lots of clubs run beginner, taster and recreational sessions, and many welcome players of all abilities. Look for the 'Recreational' and 'Open trial / taster session' labels, then ask the club what to expect.
What is a football trial and how should I prepare?
A trial is a session where a club or team watches players and decides who to invite to join. Wear football boots or trainers suited to the surface, shin pads and layers, bring water, arrive early, and be ready to try things and have fun. Ask the club in advance about age groups and any forms to bring.
What age groups are covered?
Age groups vary from club to club, from young girls' teams through to adult women's football. Each listing shows the age groups the club has told us about. Always check with the club because teams and age groups change each season.
How do I get my club listed, and is it free?
Listing is free. Use the 'List your club' page to send your club's details, or tell us if something on your listing is out of date and we'll update it.
